How to create an event
- Login to the backend, in the main menu under events, click Event Management.
- You will be redirected to a list of existing events (if any), click create new.
- Click Add a new item.
- Give your Event a name.
- Select the Start Date and Time to the End Date and Time.
- Select a Category, if you don't have any yet click Add New.
- Choose whether the event is public OR private
What is a Public Event?
A Public Event is an event that anyone can register and join as an attendee. Public events have a registration form and are promoted through your apps main page in a gallery/list (located at the site index of your web app – eg: https://yourdomain.com).
What is a Private Event?
Private Events are created in a similar way to public events however they are not listed publicly for anyone to join and do not use a custom registration form. In order for Attendees to join these events they must either be imported in bulk or added individually (visit the Attendees tab in the main menu and click add attendee).
Charging Attendees to Join Events
You can charge your attendees to join particular events by checking the box “Is this a paid event?”. Doing so reveals a price and currency box for your to complete. Be sure that you have integrated Stripe before selecting this option.
- Add a compelling description for your event
- Add Speakers and Sponsors (optional) and click next
- Note: When a speaker is added to an event they will be sent an email containing the date, time and URL of the event
- Upload a logo and banner for your event
- Select Digital Takeaways for your event (from your media library)
- Add an Agenda to for your Event (optional)
What is an Agenda?
An Agenda gives the host the power to display a Timeline of activity during the event. This is particularly useful to the attendees so they know who might be speaking at a particular time or when the Q&A might be activated.
- Once you've completed the above steps Click Next to finalise the creation of your event
- What is a slug? Its the name of the events page (for example yourdomain.com/event-name)
- Choose the video conferencing software you wish to integrate with
- Select the registration form and click submit
